Prayer For A Marine Recruit

Father, in the coming days, I will need you, but my recruit will need You more!
Let her perform her tasks with a sense of duty, not of anger or vengeance.

Let her reflexes be quick and her hands steady.
Let her head be clear and her eyes sharp.
Let her mind and body be strong and her spirit stronger.

God, please stand by my recruit and watch her back when she cannot!

Father, I love this recruit of mine! Take from ME; what she needs and give me what she does not.
I will pace the nights, if it means she gets some sleep.
I will deal with fatigue, if it means she will have energy.
I will carry her fear, if it means it gives her courage.
I will take her pain, if it means she is healthy and whole.
I will take her anger, if it means she is at peace.

Take my love and pride and let her feel it!
Let her know that I am with her every step of the way!

Please, take from me what You can; I give it willingly and with love.
It is all I have besides my prayers.

Above all, please help my recruit to achieve her goal of becoming.
A United States Marine!

This I ask on bended knee, that which I cannot do without YOU!

Amen

Gracious God,

A warrior fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. As a warrior prepares for battle, there is a solemn responsibility: to know how and when and if to take life, just as a warrior must know how and when and if to risk their own life. These matters of giving and taking life are truly best left in your capable hands, O God, and yet here we are, in the midst of this tarnished and imperfect world. Your call echoes through all the confusion; from Micah and Deuteronomy we hear your ancient claim upon our lives to do three things: to do justice, love mercy, and in all things to walk humbly with you. With your grace, these warriors can wholeheartedly and faithfully do justice by executing the duties they have been given. They can love mercy to not only be the first to fight but also to be the first to pray for what is lost in war on all sides. And as we turn from our greatest accomplishments and triumphs, may we walk humbly with you, God, where your peace passes all understanding, enfolding us for all eternity.

Blessed be, Amen.

Almighty Father , whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family. Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Make me considerate of those committed to my leadership. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.

If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.

Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.
AMEN.

My oldest son is in boot camp in San Diego. He is near the end of his 3rd week out of 12. Graduation is Aug 14

Keep him and his platoon (2RTB G Co Plt 2146) in prayer.

This has been his dream for the past 11 years (since he was 10) and he has been actively working toward this.

He's having problems with his knees. Something he experienced in high school when he was working out for foot ball. When his thigh muscles are worked to the extreme, they cause his patella (knee cap) to rub, causing pain. He's working through this and won't let it stop him from becoming a MARINE.

If any one would like to write him during boot camp, please PM me.

Thank you.

Eternal God, when I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In You, whose word I praise in You I trust, and I am not afraid. What can man do to me? What can training do to me? I declare that this training will work to grow me and help me flourish. I thank You for being my rock during this journey, thank You for being my strength when I have none. Father, I put my trust in You for You are with me, Amen.

Dear Lord, I thank You in advance for the strength that Your Word says that You give. Thank You for blessing me with peace even as I go to war. As I go through the basic training that is not only physically draining but mentally and emotionally draining fill me with overwhelming spiritual strength. Give me the strength to face each trial and test with an enduring heart, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We bring to you our loved one ______(name) who you gave to us. How quickly the time has passed. They have grown up now to be an adult. We thank You for choosing us as their parents and giving us the privilege of raising them under Your watchful care. Many prayers have been said for them by us and others and we thank You, that you have heard them all and answered them according to Your own wisdom and direction that You have always had for them.

Now, Father, we come to You again in prayer, as ______prepares to leave for training in the United States Armed Forces. You have guided them in pursuit of this goal and we pray that the good work You have begun in ______will be overseen with Your supervision and love of them as they leave to complete this training.

We ask you to help him in every expectation the military has of them. We ask You to make all things possible for _____ as they face the standards and goals that the military has for them. We pray that You will put ______ in the company of Godly influences who show them Your ways of excellence. We pray that You will use these people to impress upon them the importance of following and obeying Your rules and laws to be successful as a member of the Armed Forces and as Your child.

We ask you to place ______ into Your protective custody so that they may finish all that is required without any delays. We pray that Your angels would be assigned to keep them in all the ways You have planned for them to follow.

We turn ______ completely over to You for all of Your good works in them to be secured. We trust that our prayer in the Name of Your Son, Jesus, by His power, by His Spirit and by His Blood will be answered to Your glory as we await ____'s graduation and their official recognition as a member of the Armed Forces in service to You and their country.
