Prayer For Despair
Listen to me, LORD, and answer me,
for I am helpless and weak.
Save me from death, because I am
loyal to you;
save me, for I am your servant
and I trust in you.
You are my God, so be merciful to me;
I pray to you all day long.
Make your servant glad, O LORD,
because my prayers go up to you.
You are good to us and forgiving,
full of constant love for all who
pray to you.
Listen, LORD, to my prayer;
hear my cries for help.
I call to you in times of trouble,
because you answer my prayers.

But as for me, I will pray to you, LORD;
answer me, God, at a time you choose.
Answer me because of your great love,
because you keep your promise to save.
Save me from sinking in the mud;
keep me safe from my enemies,
safe from the deep water.
Don't let the flood come over me;
don't let me drown in the depths
or sink into the grave.
Answer me, LORD, in the goodness
of your constant love;
in your great compassion turn to me!
Don't hide yourself from your servant;
I am in great trouble answer me now!
Psalm 69.13-17
Dear God,
I've come to a dead end.
Everything I've tried has failed.
Previously, I have entertained despair, and now I find it to be a constant companion.
I've been through cycle after cycle of defeat - picking myself back up just to find myself thrown back down in the dirt and crushed.
I can't get any traction on the track of life. It is like trying to walk on a butter-covered road.
I cry out for you to blink, and let me be over this situation.
I feel constrained; I cannot move.
I am boxed in. I cannot go anywhere.
I've begged and pleaded.
Even though you do not respond, I know you hear me.
God tell me how to get out of here.
I'll do anything you want. Or I'll do nothing, if that is what you want.
I'll say anything. Or, if you want, I'll say nothing.
Where is the rule book to tell me what I do next? What sacrifice can I give to appease your silence? I just want out of here! I'm in a box that is too small, too tight, and too dark.
The only clue I have is that you must want me to learn to be content here.
But here, God? This place is so desolate. Oh God, what you ask is so hard. My perplexed thoughts spin around in my mind.
I will face the truth that you give me. I cannot refuse you.
Lord, my love for you makes me not want to refuse you.
Teach me to be content here. Please teach me. I lie still and quiet like a baby who has cried herself to sleep. I rest in your arms that bind me from my will.
Your love for me and my love for you - unite today - to give me strength to patiently wait on you. I will sense your provision for me today. I will believe that you can sustain me, today. And tomorrow, I'll pray this prayer again if I need to.

Father,
I have had just about enough of this [lay the specific dilemma out before Him]. It distinctly feels like You have not been listening to my prayers and my weeping, like You have been asleep on the job, or oblivious, busy ruling some other universe.
But because I know Your character as well as Your history, I choose to lay my burden at Your feet and praise You. Though I feel abandoned, I know better! You have never forsaken me, and You never will.
You have not ignored or minimized my suffering. You have not turned Your back on me. You have listened to every prayer and have heard every groan my soul has uttered. I will continue to praise You until this situation turns. Then I will let the whole world know what You have done. I will not keep silent, but I will tell everyone and summon the whole earth to love, appreciate, honor, and worship You forever.

Dear Heavenly Father, I despair to the deepest depths of my soul over recent events that you are aware of. I know you are there, I know you love me. I feel trapped and scared.
Please cover myself and my family with your Holy Spirit, your mercy and grace. Please take charge of these circumstances and bring about a seemingly impossible miracle.
You are able. I need you so very much. Thank you for Jesus' sacrifice for my salvation and forgiveness. Please answer my prayer and come quickly to my aid. I need you. I Love you. Amen.
Dear Father God, the world is becoming so evil and cruel, and there are so many difficulties and dangers we are having to face.. and life is becoming so burdensome at times, that I find myself falling into despair - for fear of what is happening in the world today
Please look down on me and my loved ones. Bless us and protect us I pray. Pour out Your unconditional love on us all.. and fill our hearts with Your perfect peace and amazing grace.
Help me to hold on tightly to Your precious promises and help us all to be strong and very courageous. Thank You that You are theLord ourGod - Who goes before us and behind us and promises to be with us and to take away all our problems and heavy burdens.
Thank You that You have promised to be with us always even to the end of the age. Thank You that You have given us an assurance that You will NEVER ever leave us nor forsake us. Keep me I pray from falling into the trap of despair, for I know that there is nothing to be gained by it but rather help us not to fear or be dismayed, but to trust You in all things this I ask in Jesus name,
