Prayer For Easter Meal

Dear God,

We thank Thee

for another Easter.

As we stand behind our chairs,

before we sit to eat,

we just want to stop and tell You

how grateful we are,

for everything.

We thank You

to be able to enjoy

this full course meal,

from appetizers to desserts.

We thank You

for the loving hands

who prepared this cuisine

always making us want

second portions.

Smells abound,

sight unseen.

We thank You

for all the love

from friends

and family in between.

Amen.

Our Father Who art in Heaven,

Most gracious Father,

we truly appreciate and thank You

for another Easter Sunday morning.

We ask You to bless

this Easter breakfast feast

we are about to partake,

filled with biblical nourishing delights.

We ask You to purify, sanctify

each and every bite,

as we break our fasts from last night.

Touch each heart to feed the hungry

with food and or word.

Touch each soul to lift another

with your messages we have heard.

Touch each and everyone

who has showered us with their

labours of love

to make this grand meal

a tasteful melodious delight,

soothing to our spirits

with another great remembrance

for us to recall,

for many a day and night.

Amen.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us this day.
May this meal be blessed as we gather to celebrate together.
May your love be shared amongst us as we enjoy the gift of fellowship.
May we remember to give out the grace and forgiveness that you have freely given us,
And may we always give thanks for your sacrificial love.

Amen.

Lord, thank you that on the cross you overcame all darkness, sin and death and are alive forevermore. Thank you that we are made alive in you and are eternally yours. So today we praise you for your endless goodness and provision. Please bless this beautiful food to us now in your precious name.

Amen.

O Jesus, I pray that anyone who has not accepted you as their Lord and Savior will see the importance in you today and come through to you, Jesus. It is because of you that we have such a beautiful day. In your name I pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for this glorious day we call Easter, where we celebrate the resurrection of your Son, Jesus! Let us rejoice in you and not forget why we're gathering on this Sunday. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Blest are you, Lord our God, who gathers us together in Jesus' name. We thank you for sharing your life with us, both in this meal and in all the ways you sustain us, through Christ, our Risen Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We offer you gratitude for the ability to gather for this Easter Dinner Prayer. We recall how your son gathered with his disciples when he walked the earth. He broke bread with them and enjoyed their company. We thank you for his example as we come together to do the same.

As we ask you to bless our food and conversation, we remember why we celebrate Easter. The sacrifice of your son's very body for our sin was costly. Jesus willingly subjected himself to suffering so that we could be forgiven and free. While the cross symbolizes his death, it also symbolizes the promise of new lifelife that can only come from you.

We need that promise. We collectively offer up the ashes of our lives to youthe hurts, disappointments, loss, and pain of this past year. We know through Jesus' experience on the cross that we are not alone when we experience hardship. We thank you that you understand and walk with us during difficult times.

Despite knowing trial, we are an Easter people. We hold fast to a hope that's insurmountable, because it's grounded in the resurrection power of your son. Jesus rose from the dead, is seated at your right hand, and offers every single one of us his victory by faith.

We can experience that victory. You hear us when we think no one is listening, You act when we think there is nothing more than can be done, and you shower grace upon us when we feel most unworthy. These examples communicate your unconditional love and are proof that you are alive and active today.

Make the resurrection personal to ushelp it to inspire and change the way we live each day beyond Easter. Make us agents of your hope by what we do for others and claim for our lives. Strengthen our belief so that we might continue enjoying spiritual treasures from your hand as we rest in the promise of the life to come.

We pray this Easter Meal Blessing with confidence in Jesus' victorious name, Amen.
