Prayer For Failing Marriage

Father, these things in Ephesians seem impossible right now. All of the things these verses say are things we cannot do apart from You. But we vow today, to have faith in You. We promise to trust You through the brokenness and heartbreak, trusting that it will not last forever. The process of forgiveness will begin in our hearts this very moment, but we will leave restoration and reconciliation in Your hands.

Take it all our marriage and our lives. We have come to the end of ourselves and the ability to repair what has been broken in ourselves, our spouses, and our marriages. We are taking a backseat to Your sovereignty. Break it all if you must, in order to restore completely what has been lost. As we walk through the unknown state of our futures, we are believing You for who You say You are.

For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' (Jeremiah 29:11-13, NIV)

Come Lord Jesus. Into our lives with miraculous healing.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

Father,

Sovereign, omnipotent, all-knowing. These are the big and complicated words that describe who You are. Never fully able to grasp how deep and wide and long Your love is for us, we humbly praise You today for who You are. Whether or not we meet you in moments of clarity or confusion, You are God. You are good. You are sovereign, omnipotent, all-knowing. When the world is unfair to us You are fair to defend us. As we unravel, You rewind the spool. What we cannot see, You have already gone before and prepared for us.

So good are You God, that even when no words or feelings of joy are flitting to the surface or permeating our minds, the Holy Spirit is faithful to stir in us three words of hope: Don't give up.

Lord, I come before you today with a heavy heart; my marriage is in grave trouble, and I need Your help and closeness. Please make changes in my spouse's heart. Make us compatible again, and bring us closer together as we were before. Fill us with Your love and give us the strength to love one another, care for one another, and fulfill your life long wishes for us. Show us the harm caused by careless, uncalled for words, and the pain caused by emotional distance. Heal the division between the two of us. Make us one again. In Your precious name I pray, amen.

O Lord, unforgiveness and anger are poisoning our marriage. Nothing seems to be working; all we do is fight when we are together. We have made so many mistakes, and now we are on the verge of a divorce. We seem to be happy apart than when we spend time together. But Lord, this is not what you promised us. Remove unforgiveness and anger from our hearts and help us to love one another with a love of Christ. Give us the strength to fight for our marriage until we experience restoration. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Father, thank you for bringing us together. It is written in your word that two are better than one, but Lord of late, we have been struggling to stay together as husband and wife. Come to our rescue, dear Lord. Bind us with cords that will never be broken. Take away the pain that we have inflicted on each other's lives and show us the right path to take as a married couple. May the promises that you have made over our marriage prevail. May your peace rule richly in our marriage, and may the peace of Christ rest in our hearts and home. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Lord, I come to you with this petition because I know that you have made me one flesh with my spouse and you have said that no man should come between us (Matthew 19:6).

So I take authority over every outside influence that is polluting our marriage. Every foreign power that's manipulating this marriage is dealt a heavy blow in Jesus name.

Oh Lord, reveal their evil agenda. Expose them and bring their plan to nought.

I pray that their seed of discord, hatred, malice, and separation that has been sown is uprooted by fire, in Jesus name. Amen!

Heavenly and Merciful Father, I thank you for who you are and for the promises that you have made concerning me and my spouse.

Your Word is forever true. And your promise of blessings and multiplication that you have given me throughout the ages (Genesis 22:17; Hebrews 6:14) is forever mine, in Jesus' name.

You have promised to bless me exceedingly and it is your heart's desire to enlarge my coast.

Every satanic covenant that is going against your continual and uninterrupted blessing in this marriage, I command the rain of fire to consume them, in Jesus' name.

I pray against every spirit of lack and wretchedness. Oh Lord, let your peace, joy, happiness, and comfort saturate this marriage, in Jesus' name, Amen!

Dear God, please have mercy on me and return my husband to me. Please forgive us both for our sins and help us to forgive each other and begin anew as one. Enter into our hearts and clear our minds so we may see and follow the steps you have ordered for us. Remove from our midst those who threaten to destroy our marriage. Bless us with the wisdom to instruct our sons to be one with you.

Thank for all blessings you have granted us. Please still our troubled souls and walk with us and provide your loving protection and mercy during our marriage crisis. Father, please return my husband to me, ready to continue this union and fosaking all others. I ask this in he name of your son Jesus. Amen.
