A Prayer For Labor Day

For the first Monday of September or any occasion

Did you know that Labor Day in the United States is always celebrated on the first Monday in September? It is a celebration of the labor movement in the USA, and commemorates and celebrates the economic and social achievements of workers. It is a yearly tribute to the contributions workers have made to the prosperity, well-being, and strength America and other countries. Saint Joseph is the patron saint of working and workers, and is a biblical example of how labor should play out in a society and family unit.

Prayer For Labor Day
Almighty God,
you have so linked our lives one with another
that all we do affects,
for good or ill,
all other lives:
So guide us in the work we do,
that we may do it not for self alone,
but for the common good;
and, as we seek a proper return
for our own labor,
make us mindful
of the rightful aspirations of other workers,
and arouse our concern for those who are out of work;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
