Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer

The Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel is a popular Catholic prayer. It was often recited after Mass from 1886-1964 as a devotion. It is addressed to St. Michael, an archangel mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Many Catholics use this prayer as a way to pray for the end to evils in the world or to seek protection.

Saint Michael the Archangel Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our defense
against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray.
And do thou,
O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God
cast into hell
Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
