Information about the Hail Mary

mary prayThe Hail Mary prayer is an extremely honored prayer among Catholics. It's also the major prayer used in the rosary, so many Catholics pray this classic prayer daily.

The "Hail Mary" is derived from the Gospel of Luke. The first part, "Hail Mary, full of grace" comes from an address by the angel Gabriel to Mary. Hail Mary, full of grace.

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
